The
surrounding reefs around the islands are home to 900 fish species
and over 200 varieties of coral. Come to
Samoa
to enjoy the virgin sites, no boat and divers around, just you and
the ocean!
Let us help you with Dive Reservations.
Namua
Gardens
is
an increasingly colorful dive site because of its beautiful
untouched coral and brightly colored tropical fish (some we don’t
even know the names of yet). The reef wall runs between
Namua
Island
and
Fanuatapu
Island
and we frequently see eagle rays Turtles and nadibranc (Christmas
tree worms) were with spectacular color combinations.
Lava Fingers
This Dive Site is unique in
the South Pacific. The outer reef wall is just outside the Lagoon
and runs from 5m to 26m at the base. You dive here in an unusual
blue eerie light caused by the dark layers of lava, home to amazing
numbers of tropical fish.
Diving
at the lava fingers is here will find dramatic underwater lava
landscape that seems to attract sail fish (a smaller type of Blue
Marlin) which are rarely seen underwater
Turtle Minefields
Unusual
name for a Dive site huh, but it’s named by some crazy Swedes we had
diving with us who saw no less than 10 Giants Turtles on their first
dive here. After the dive their big smiles and happy faces were
enough to convince us we had all discovered a wonderful dive site.
Sure there is great coral, clown fish, triggerfish and stingrays but
it is turtles we go here to see.
Ayers
Rock
Drift
Nu'utele
Island
(which has an uncanny resemblance to Ayers rock in
Australia
) is an ex leper colony and it is on the western reef wall that we
dive. Here we have unbelievable visibility and larger pelagic fish.
This
drift dive takes us through the incredibly clear 30’ water passing
Titan Trigger Fish, Maori Wrasse, Barracuda and we get picked up by
our boat when we come up.
Salty
Beer
Pass
This
reef is a really great dive site for open water students and a great
night dive Location, we see Lionfish, Turfs Clown Fish and is just 5
minutes away by boat.
Nu'usafee
Island
We
have 4 different sites around Nu'usafee island. Some suitable for
certified divers and others for beginners. 25 Minutes by boat from
the center it is beautiful place to dive. You will find there
beautiful and intact hard and soft corals (only place in
Samoa
we found soft corals), sea anemones and Gorgonas. A variety of
tropical fishes, Groupers, Snappers, perch...and white tip sharks (the
only place in the south coast of
Samoa
where you are 99% sure to see reefs sharks). Eagle rays or turtles
sometimes join us for the dive.
Safata Marine Reserve
We have 7 different sites inside the marine
reserve, each one has his own particularity. Some examples:
Lion’s
castle: Shallow place, perfect for beginners and lions
fishes lovers.
The
amphitheatre: Beautiful salad and brain corals. Lots of
big green turtles around there with snappers and a large variety of
tropical fishes. A white tip shark sometime join us.
The
pinnacles: beautiful site where you go through canyons and
high pinnacles. We will see turtles and snappers there.
The similarity between all the sites in the marine
reserve is the big number of Green turtles you can find there. All
the sites are situated between 10 and 25 minutes by boat from the
center.
Coconuts, Canyons and Easter Crevasses
Situated very close from the dive centre (between 5 and 10
minutes by boat), these 3 dives for certified divers only are more
interesting for their fish diversity than for the corals. You can
find there school of platax, Snappers, Emperors fish, Napoleons and
a large variety of reef fishes.
Aganoa
Beach
and Spirit house
Four shallow dives, very appropriate for beginners, but really
interesting if you want to see a nice coral garden. Snappers and
turtle can also be seen here.
Lions drift
10 minutes from our centre, in front of the
village
of
Siumu
. Maximum depth 20 meters, you will see Hawksbill turtles (maybe one,
but maybe 10), Lions fish, Diamonds fish....very interesting dives
because really different from the others concerning corals and fish
life.
