beyond the reef you'll get the chance to watch the Sea turtles from
your kayak (safe even for beginners).
The legendary Manono island, located between Upolu and
Savaii
islands is another option.
Manono

inhabited but enjoys the absence of dogs and cars. The third option

Let us help you with Kayak Reservations.
Four days tour
We start the tour in the Aleipata area, exploring
the offshore islands. We spend our first night in beach
fales on Namua island. Sea turtles are one of the
highlights at Aleipata. We spend the second night in Lalomanu. Third
day we travel overland to Maninoa and paddle west to Sa'anapu. We
spend the night at Virgin Cove Resort. The last day of our tour we
discover the pristine coastline and the Sa'anapu Mangrove
Conservation Area. See itinerary
Expeditions
For experienced kayakers who seek the real
adventure. Visit the most wild and scenic areas, inaccessible for
the ordinary tourist. Enjoy the Samoan hospitality in remote
villages where the traditional Polynesian culture still prevails. We
stay overnight in beach fale accommodations but we may also spend a
night with a Samoan family. This tour is a unique kayak adventure
that will give you an experience that you'll hardly forget. There
will be great opportunities for hiking, snorkeling, etc. Scuba
diving can be arranged.
How much of a hard core adventure it will be depends
on your experience as well as weather conditions but, typically, we
paddle partly on open ocean along rugged coasts where the access to
land limited. To participate on our expeditions you need to be fit
and possess an adequate experience in kayaking on open ocean. See

ITINERARIES: Full day kayak tours
Sa’anapu nice
lagoon, mangroves, secluded beaches and an offshore island.
We launch from Sa’anapu village, paddle west and land on a little
offshore island. We spend about 1 hour on the island to enjoy our
picnic lunch, snorkeling, swimming and beach combing. After lunch we
paddle in to the bay nearby and the rest of the afternoon is spent
on exploring the mangrove conservation area, east of Sa’anapu
village. We finish our tour where we started and should be back in
Apia
by
5-6 pm
. This tour offers a great variety of natural scenery and even
though we usually spend the whole tour in sheltered waters, suitable
for beginners, it’s highly recommended also for experienced
paddlers.
Aleipata
islands Turtles, offshore islands, snorkeling and hiking.
Namua
Island
and the surroundings, declared as a “Marine Protected Area”,
offer great opportunities for beginners as well as experienced
kayakers. If the weather is good we paddle outside the reef to watch
the sea turtles (OK also for novice paddlers). At low tide we offer
a guided hiking trip around the island (dramatic landscape). We
paddle to Fanuatapu island and hike to the view point at the top of
the island. Both Fanuatapu and Namua islands offer good
opportunities for snorkeling. The islands are both accessible from
the lagoon. With experienced paddlers we often go outside the reef
to a secluded beach on the northeast coast or to Nu’utele island (requires
good weather and calm seas). This tour is the most popular one and
includes a chance to watch the sea turtles in their natural habitat.
Nu’usafee island offshore
island (atoll) with beautiful secluded beach, snorkeling.
On this tour we spend a little shorter time
in the kayak, usually not more than 2-3 hours, but it’s still a
full day tour. We start the tour at Vaiula beach, Tafatafa, and
paddle to Nu’usafee island, a deserted atoll off the south coast.
We have our lunch on the island and spend a couple of hours swimming,
snorkeling and beach combing. For keen paddlers we can offer a side
trip outside the reef from the island. In the afternoon we have a
break at one of the south coast beaches as we paddle back to Vaiula
beach. Nu’usafee island is a deserted atoll, looking much like the
romantic idea of a South pacific island.
ITINERARIES: Overnight kayak tour
Sa’anapu Mangroves, nice
lagoon and offshore island, snorkel.
We start the tour at Maninoa Surf Camp, south coast of
Upolu
island. We paddle westwards and have our picnic lunch on a nice
beach. We continue westwards over the deeper water at Safata bay (turtles
are often seen here). We finish the first day at Virgin Cove Resort
and spend the night there. Second day we paddle to Nu’u o Avasa
islet, good for snorkeling and swimming. We paddle back to the
resort for lunch and in the afternoon we explore the mangrove
conservation area. This tour is a good option when it’s windy as
we have the prevailing easterly trade winds in our back, and the
mangroves provide natural wind shelter.
Aleipata / Namua island
nice lagoon, offshore islands, turtles, hiking and snorkeling.
We start the tour kayaking over to Namua, a beautiful offshore
island. A guided walk around the island (1 hour) is offered for
those who want to see the wild eastern side of the island. We have
our lunch at the little resort on the island where we also spend the
night. We paddle to the uninhabited Fanuatapu island, climb the
mountain (15 minutes walk) to watch the bird life and the sea
turtles swimming outside the island. We paddle back to Namua island,
outside the reef or in the lagoon depending on weather conditions
and your experience. After breakfast next day, we offer a trip out
on the open ocean to watch the sea turtles from the kayak (OK also
for beginners). We often finish our tour at Lalomanu, the
southeastern point of Upolu island, a great place for swimming and
snorkeling.
Manono
Island
nice lagoon, offshore island, hiking and relaxing.
Manono island, located in the lagoon between Upolu and
Savaii
, is larger than the other offshore islands. It’s inhabited, but
has no roads for car traffic. We start the tour at the Samoan
Village Resort, westernmost point of Upolu. We paddle over to Manono
island (1 hour paddle inside the lagoon). We have our lunch at
Vaotu’ua Beach Resort. In the afternoon we either paddle or walk
around the island. Paddling around Manono island, we land on the
uninhabited Nu’ulua island. We spend the night at Vaotu’ua Beach
Resort. The second day we hike or kayak around the island, depending
on what was done the first day. In the afternoon we paddle back to
the Samoan Village Resort and should be back in
Apia
around
5 pm
. We can arrange a boat trip for snorkeling outside the reef for an
extra $50 (share cost). The lifestyle on Manono island is very
relaxed and traditional and you’ll leave the island thinking that
you should relax more and enjoy life more than work.
